"CHUC Day" marked by tribute to professionals and award ceremony

On October 2, the Board of Directors of the Coimbra Hospital and University Center (CHUC) will pay tribute to all CHUC professionals, as well as the 147 professionals who retired between September 1, 2022 and August 31, 2023, with an individual plaque, individual file and CHUC retired professional card.

medicine_hospital_ss_53The event, which will begin at 11 a.m. at the CHUC Congress Center - Main Auditorium - HUC Campus, will also see the presentation of the CHUC 2023 research awards and grants.

The team of researchers led by Iolanda Ferreira will receive the Grant for the best research project in the clinical area with the work "Prediction of vaginal delivery after induction of labor with Computer Learning".

The grant for the best translational research project will be awarded to the team of researchers led by Rui Alves, for their work "The role of Glucagon-like Peptide-1 on dysregulated autophagy in Diabetic Kidney Disease: Implications for Pathogenesis and Therapeutic Strategies".

The article "Genetic spectrum, retinal phenotype, and peripapillary RNFL thickness in RPGR heterozygotes" was classified as the best scientific research article in the clinical area, with the following authors being honored: João Pedro Marques, Rosa Pinheiro, Ana Luísa Carvalho, Miguel Raimundo, Mário Soares, Pedro Melo, Joaquim Murta, Jorge Saraiva and Rufino Silva Genetic spectrum, retinal phenotype, and peripapillary RNFL thickness in RPGR heterozygotes

Inês Gante, Joana Martins Ribeiro, João Mendes, Ana Gomes, Vânia Almeida, Frederico Soares Regateiro, Francisco Caramelo, Henriqueta Coimbra Silva, Margarida Figueiredo-Dias will be awarded the prize for best scientific article in translational research, for their work "One Step Nucleic Acid Amplification (OSNA) Lysate Samples Are Suitable to Establish a Transcriptional Metastatic Signature in Patients with Early Stage Hormone Receptors-Positive Breast Cancer".
